Introducing the NEW Subway D-800 Class-D Bass amplifier and Subway Ultra-Lite 1x12 & 1x15 Cabinets from MESA/Boogie!
800 watts at 4 or 2 ohms and weighing in at just 5.5 lbs., the Subway D800 is a library of great bass tone with a simple and easy-to-use interface. Our new Ultra-Lite 1x15 weighs in at 36 lbs. using lightweight poplar ply and custom-voiced neodymium speakers.
This clip features long-time Mesa friend and San Francisco Bay Area session and gigging ace Eric McCann playing his go-to Fender Jazz bass. Eric wrote this riff in the styles of Willie Weeks and the Bay Area’s own Tower of Power/Rocco Prestia, showcasing the quick responsiveness of the Subway D800 and the full, round and punchy low-end of the Ultra-Lite 1x15 Cabinets.
Recorded with both the bridge and neck single-coil J pickups of a Fender J-Bass into the Subway D800 and the Subway Ultra-Lite 1x15 Cabinets. Mic'd with a Beyer-Dynamic M99 and the POST DI output of the Subway D800. Mixed 50% mic and 50% DI with and with light compression on the final output.
