Ownhammer are notoriously excellent and prolific generators of Impulse Responses. IR's for short. Their latest offering is an IR library of the very same cabinet that did the lion's share of the work on the last GNR offering, "Chinese Democracy". It's a Marshall '71 1960B loaded with Greenbacks. I know exactly what these cabs sound like because I used an original from the period for nearly 20 years before it fell apart (no road case). Ownhammer have done an outstanding job capturing this one. For the price asked, you'll be wanting this library for your Fractal, Kemper, HeadRush, Helix and just about any other IR loading device, I reckon. The library caters for all.
Fractal Audio recently released their X-LOAD Reactive Load LB-2. It's already proved its worth at my place. The LB-2 is a simple device that makes recording 'real' amps a breeze. And because it feeds IR's, it opens my amps up to several thousand cabinets and speakers that I would never have experienced otherwise. The LB-2 is a no-brainer for studio types or performers wanting to feed their amps to IR's. Brilliant.
MI Audio is run by a genius named Michael Ibrahim. You've heard of the Crunch Box, right? And the Blues Pro..? Michael makes unbelievably great amps as well - his true passion. I have one. The Iron Duke V2. It's a multi voiced take on the JCM800 era with a ton of extras and mods. I'll never part with it.
Together this trio makes for a formidable combination. If you're into recording and don't want to go the whole way into modelling, a setup like this might be for you.
Thanks for watching.
