While the Rectifier is most well known for its Modern high gain sound, the Recto-Verb 25 and it's distinctively clippable EL-84 power section utilizes the classic Rectifier circuit and makes for incredible clean, driven and vintage gain sounds in a compact package. It's hard to step away from this amp once you're plugged in!
This play-through showcases crisp, percussive rhythm sounds available in the CLEAN mode and the 25 watt setting with a Voodoo Lab Micro Vibe. The lush, tube-driven spring reverb is set at about 35% leaving tons more reverb to spare.
The riff moves into the VINTAGE mode of Channel 2 on 10 watts with the Gain set just below 12:00 for some Hendrixian single note soloing. The smooth, even-ordered saturation from the preamp breathes with mild attack then gives way to more snarl and scream as you dig in.
The playing closes with the FX and Reverb being switched off to reveal the dry, classic rock tones of the VINTAGE mode for rhythm and solo sounds.
The Recto-Verb 25 is a do-it-all amp with a small footprint and a direct circuit descendant of the original Dual Rectifier. You'll be surprised at the gig ready volume available, even in the lower 10 watt setting, and the shear power, punch and gain of the VINTAGE & MODERN high gain modes in channel 2, capable of driving 2x12s, 4x12s and more.
Played by Jude Gold through the neck, split and bridge positions of a Nash Guitars S-57 Strat with Lollar single-coil pickups into a Recto-Verb 25 head and two 1x12 Mini Rectifier 1x12 Slant Cabinets. Recorded with a Heil PR30 and a Sennheiser 906.
