Did you know the ES-335's thin body design was Gibson's solution to reducing feedback for bigger, louder performances back in 1958?
That's right, Gibson was looking for a big body guitar that could be played louder without feedback occurring - the secret - the maple centre block to minimize internal vibrations. That's why the ES-335 allows you to play louder and clearer. Did you know that ES stands for Electric Spanish? Well, there's a fun fact for you.
The Epiphone "Inspired by Gibson" ES-335 Figured honors the immortal ES-335, the thin semi-hollow archtop that brought archtop class to the rock era. Featuring a solid maple center block for added sustain and feedback resistance, Alnico Classic PRO™ humbuckers, Grover® Rotomatic® tuners, and a flame maple veneer top and back in stunning Blueberry Burst and Raspberry Tea Burst gloss finishes that are sure to turn heads. An optional hardshell or EpiLite™ case is available separately.
A comfortable C profile neck is slightly slimmer than a 50s rounded neck, but still easy to play. The set neck joint design assures maximum sustain, as it's glued to the thin ES-style body. Speaking of the body, it showcases a triple-A flame or figured maple veneer that is will look incredible under stage lights and the five layers of maple in the top, back, and sides bring out a warm, woody tone and the unique resonance semi-hollow guitars are known for.
The Epiphone ES-335 is equipped with the lock tone hardware in nickel, three-way toggle switch, and CTS potentiometers to give you versatile tonal options. Listen to the difference each pickup makes in the neck, middle, and bridge positions.
