Wildwood Guitars was absolutely blown away when we first discovered Friedman Guitars at the 2016 NAMM show. We were so enamored with these vintage inspired, hot-rodded instruments, that we took the entire first run, which sold out almost immediately. From authentic relic work to exceptional tone woods and electronics, these instruments had it all, with a master built feel at a phenomenal value. So when the opportunity arose nearly two years later to snag the prototypes for that very run, we simply couldn't resist. You'll notice an unbelievable attention to detail, ultra comfortable vintage feel, and a tone for days. The Wildwood Team is overjoyed to see these ultra-rare, incredible instruments return. Wildwood Guitars is honored and humbled to present the prototypes for this exceptional inaugural run to our exceptional customers, available only at Wildwood Guitars. See below for our original write up on these stellar instruments, celebrating Dave Friedman's bold venture into the world of guitars.
Dave Friedman is known for his exceptional work in the world of amplifiers and switching systems. In fact, with years of experience, he's arguably one of the greatest minds in the industry. So it was no surprise to the Wildwood Staff when Dave decided he wanted to venture into the world of guitars. After all, Dave was no stranger to great instruments, working with numerous platinum selling artists and rock n' roll icons. "A labor of love" inspired by vintage instruments, Dave knew what a great guitar should feel like and how it should respond to a players hands. The result: Friedman Guitars. Each instrument is hand crafted by a small luthier in California, ensuring each piece is meticulously built to perfection and lovingly aged, paying tribute to some of Dave's favorite vintage pieces. Hand-wound Motor City Pickups complete the package, accentuating each instruments unique voice and creating an experience which, much like his amplifiers, is nothing short of brilliant. No frills, no gimmicks. Just a phenomenal, inspired instrument done right.
While the amplifier business will always be his bread and butter, Dave has created some incredible instruments in extremely small, limited runs that will only be available for a limited time. The moment we held these in our hands, we knew we wanted to share them with the world. Wildwood Guitars is honored to have partnered with Friedman to release these incredible, small batch instruments to our exceptional customers.
