Wildwoodians, the Trashmen's classic version of "Surfin' Bird" is eeerily and very specifically prophetic, because whenever a cool Firebird arrives, bird is the word on everyone's lips. In this case, the "bird' in question is this reissue of a 1965 Non-Reverse Firebird, and this 'bird can sing! First off, it captures everything that made the original sixties Firebirds cool to a T--the iconic finish, the elegant mahogany body, the neck-through construction, and those glorious mini humbuckers. All in all, it makes for a guitar with a warm, punchy sound, but with a bit more brightness, elegance, and refinement than its rawer, beefer cousin, the SG. That's not to say it can't get raunchy, as those focused mini 'buckers and bite and snarl with the best of 'em! This guitar excels at just about everything: classic rock, hard rock, country, blues, punk, even metal!
It's also a joy to play thanks to its uber-comfy '60s-style Slim Taper neck profile, which is somewhat thin at the first fret and slightly thicker at the twelfth, which makes for a fast, fun playing experience. All in all, it's sort of like a modern recreation of a muscle car: all the vibe, but with incredible modern fit and finish (not to mention, it's a lot of fun when you're in the driver's seat!). We have no doubt it will get you all revved up to make some loud noises and have a good time!
