It's a hot and humid evening here in Melbourne. So I opened the doors (sorry neighbours!), turned out the lights and flew largely blind with a couple of beers under my belt.
The Axe-FX amp model is a Friedman HBE with some delays, rotary, phaser, reverb and 808 OD. The guitar is an Oakland Axe Factory SS8 - an 8 string Strat (style) built by Tom Drinkwater in Maine. The backing track is "Jazz Fusion Dm 94bpm" from their Jazz Fusion 1 album.
There are plenty of mistakes, noise, silliness ...as usual. It's quite hard (for me) to fly in the dark with an 8 string - I can't see very well as it is! So, if you're looking for something to challenge you, pick up a guitar that you're not totally comfortable with, bang on a backing track and go for it. Can't hurt! (...Unless you make it public). This jam's probably 8 minutes too long, but what the hell, eh? Ciao.
