From Vancouver with love - lots of it! This is a family business and it would seem that their only goal (apart from selling a few) is to offer you the best product they can possibly build. The Maple Leaf Royal Drive continues their tradition of excellence. Two distinct drives with a clever 'High' control, auxiliary top-end boost and well-voiced Low control give you everything from high-headroom TS style drive through to fuzz-like saturated distortion. The tone stack enables a heap of tones from honey-like blackface drive (I'm trying to avoid the usual "D-Style" comparisons ... oops... ) through to gritty metal aggression. It works just as well with single coil equipped guitars as it does with humbuckers and thanks to its extensive tone shaping network, I doubt there are many amp varieties it won't get on with. We're into early April 2018 and this would be my drive pedal pick of the year thus far, for sure.
