Spring has sprung, Summer's on it's way and that can only mean festivals, campfires, beaches and barbecues...and with that in mind, in this series we're taking a look at our 5 favourite travel guitars! A mini acoustic guitar guide complete with sound comparison.
It may be a little unfair to compare these 5 models due to the large price swing between them, but each offer different qualities that you personally may find more useful in a travel guitar. The Taylor GS Mini sounds the best, but it is the most expensive, whereas the Yamaha APXT2 is the smallest and great value and it's got onboard electronics as standard, but it is the quietest and thinnest sounding. The Eastcoast James Neligan Mini is exceptional value and features specs of a much more expensive guitar, but it is the largest of our favourite travel guitars. There's not much to choose from between the Taylor Baby and the Martin LX1, they're both a similar size and price, the Baby sounds great but the LX1 is possibly a little tougher.
So what we're trying to say is, pick your favourite depending on your needs from a travel guitar...and don't forget to let us know which one you'd pick in the comments below!
