Jeff Massey, lead guitarist of the Steepwater Band, sat down and shared some of his favorite Eric Clapton solo licks. The first riff uses a repeating triplet motif and one of Clapton's more common pentatonic shapes. The second riff works perfectly as a transition from the one to the five in a blues progression. The third riff brings some of the speed flourishes that Clapton is known for. All three riffs are played in D.
