I took my Vintage Canadian Pepco into a Professional repair shop to have them install a power trasformer for me and an on/off lamp. With no communication, until I saw it with my own two eyes, this is what I got back. Am I being pranked??
With no communication the "owner" and repair person decided it was best to add a redundant on/off switch and drill a hole in an original 1960's panel to do it. Without asking me about if I wanted to do it this way, or offering me an alternative to perhaps upgrade the original on/off - Volume combination switch to a newer unity, he HOGGED a hole and installed this cheap ugly switch I did NOT want. I would have said NO to this. I would have asked for an alternative, if I'd been given a chance, like you'd expect any "Professional" repair service to offer you before just adding parts, drilling holes and increasing the original quote.
