Mesa Artist Jamie Humphries wrote, recorded and video’d this song to demonstrate the the versatility of Ch. 2 in the Mark Five: 35 1x12 combo for both rhythm and lead sounds. Using the MKIV Mode, Jamie captures the classic 90s Alt Rock gain sounds of Ty Tabor and Kings X with low Gain settings for rhythm sounds, while the Mark IIC+ mode delivers signature Boogie, singing, sustaining lead sounds with higher gain settings.
This video also showcases the Mark Five 35’s potential for excellent recorded sounds in its lower 10 Watt mode as it was recorded in a home studio at fairly quiet levels. The 10 Watt mode offers more power tube and power section saturation at lower volumes, giving the player access to real power tube distortion and enhanced feel and response on the guitar’s strings without having to crank the amp up. Lower wattages provide feel and tone that makes tube amplifiers really fun to play without having to be loud.
Recorded with a Musicman Axis Super Sport Custom & Dimarzio DLX Plus bridge pickup (Rhythm) and an Ernie Ball Music Man Axis Supersport and Dimarzio 36th anniversary neck and bridge pickups (Solo) into a Mark Five: 35 1x12 combo. Recorded with a Heil PR-30 mic and the built-in CabClone in the Open Back mode. Blended 65% Heil and 35% CabClone. Mixed and Mastered by Jamie Humphries.
