MESA/Boogie Five-Band Graphic EQ -- Clean & Drive Baritone
http://www.mesaboogie.com/Product_Info/pedals/throttlebox-eq-pedal.html
This demo is a great example of the usefulness of the Boogie Five-Band Graphic EQ in BOTH Clean and Overdrive applications. The Baritone guitar delivers an extended low frequency range that the Boogie EQ fills in while the Mid scoop on the 750hz band and the Treble boost on the 6600hz slider accentuates clean sparkle and shimmer with amazing detail.
With overdrive and gain sounds, the Boogie EQ adds punch and grind, with the 2200hz slider being very useful for dialing in extra snarl and cut. The Boogie 'Classic V' shape is a well-known technique to achieving many of the worlds iconic recorded high gain sounds, both vintage and modern. Adding the Boogie Five-Band Graphic EQ to your FX Loop or amplifier front end provides an extensive range of tone-shaping possibilities beyond your amps built-in tones.
Signal Chain: Played through the Bridge & Neck Humbucking pickups of a MJ Guitars Roadster Baritone guitar into Channel 1 Clean and Channel 2 Drive of a Lone Star 100W Head and 2x12 Rectifier Cabinet. The Five Band Graphic EQ is patched into the FX Loop of the Lone Star. Recorded with a Heil PR30 and a Sennheiser 906.
