The Breedlove Oregon Concert is made entirely in Oregon and uses some of the Pacific Northwest's indigenous tone woods. The top is a solid piece of sitka spruce, a classic acoustic top wood that provides crispness and projection. The back and sides are a little less conventional: Rather than the usual rosewood or mahogany, this guitar uses myrtlewood, typically found in the Northwest region of the US and parts of British Columbia. Though relatively unknown in traditional luthiery world, this wood combines the smooth bass of rosewood with the liveliness of maple and tops it all off with a unique look. The neck is big leaf maple, and it features an ebony fretboard with 21 inlays. It's very comfortable and a touch on the fast side, kind of like a slim C. The 1 3/4" nut width is wide enough for fingerpickers but slim enough for flatpickers and strummers. The Fishman Ultra-Tone pickup system is simple and effective. There's a 1/4 jack and two super low profile knobs in the soundhole. Other features include a Tusq nut and saddle, Breedlove tuners with black buttons and a bridge-pin free bridge design.
This instrument sounds incredible and plays wonderfully, but it also has its own personality. You're not going to find anything else on the market quite like it. If you're interested, be sure to give us a call.
