This ferocious flamed maple monster is one of my favorite masterbuilt Gretsches I've ever played! This serial has huge, booming low end, a slight scoop in the mdis, and some serious snarl in the treble. The neck pickup sounds like what would happen if a subwoofer had a baby with a grand piano, and flicking to the bridge position feels like stepping into an AC/DC record. This is Gretsch is very capable of rocking and/or rolling, but through a clean amp you can get all sorts of jangly rhythm tones and darker jazzy sounds, too! This guitar would make a fine addition to any collector's quiver, but it'd be especially great for anyone seeking a masterbuilt with a mean streak a mile long.
