I love a good Bassman. I love a good JTM45. They're the foundation of the classic rock amp. I've owned, bought and sold quite a few during my four-decade long tone quest. The ARGOS is the Achillies version of those classics. You can deploy it as the classic standard or engage one of its 6 toggle switches to bring in auto-jumped inputs (Blend), focus (Edge), bypass the tone stack (Raw), tame the volume a little (Master), shelve two stages of bass and accentuate some mids (Cut) and brighten it up (Bright). There's an effects loop, 20/40W attenuation, Line Out and, of course, the impeccable workmanship and attention typical of Labros at Achillies Amps. He's obsessed, to put it mildly. The Argos, ladies and gents, is a classic reinvented.
For this video I've teamed the Argos with an Achillies Amps 2x12 cab housing Celestion 75W Creambacks. They have plenty enough headroom to both take the punishment whilst also conveying the slight squish of the amp's tube rectifier. An Achillies customer can order to their own specifications.
