Guitar effects technology is improving every year, and with that effects pedals are to pack more and more into a pedal. This is our list of the top multi-effects pedals that fit in a single (mxr sized) guitar pedal.
1) Hotone Xtomp
Touting component level modeling, the Hotone Xtomp allows you to load one high quality effects algorithm at a time. Quality amps, drives, modulations as well as dual effect and amp/cabinet combos, there are so many use cases for an Xtomp on anyone's board. The Xtomp is stereo and true bypass, leaving your original tone intact.
2) Neunaber Expanse (ExP)
Neunaber bring multi effects in a tiny package. While technically requiring the ExP pedal to access live, you can still use a regular external foot switch and special cable to switch between its 4 effects slots. Analog dry through, including when effects are active, the Neunaber Expanse pedals are for those who don't want to comprise anything on quality.
3) Zoom MS-100BT
The Zoom MS-100BT isn't just able to be multiple single effects, but allows you to chain multiple effects in complete presets. It does not have analog bypass, so some users may notice some change to their tone.
4) Hotone Xtomp Mini
Featuring exactly the same sound quality as the full Xtomp, but doesn't offer stereo or the combo effects or the full pedal.
5) Korg Pandora Stomp
Similar to the Zoom, the pandora stomp is complete preset multi effects pedal with presets.
6) Zoom MS-50G & MS-70CDR
The same technology as the MS-100BT, but lacks the ability to expand the effects via bluetooth and the app.
7) Digitech iStomp
One of the first bluetooth expandable pedals, the Digitech iStomp was a breakthrough in single-sized effects flexibility.
8) Behringer FX600
Josh from JHS thinks Behringer make quality budget effects. The FX600 will give you most of the standard effects you'll need in an affordable package.
9) Beta-Alvin ME-100
A similar feature set to the FX600 the ME-100 also lets you run delay and reverb along size of it's various modulation effects.
10) TC Electronic Flashback
While technically a delay pedal. The TC Electronic Flashback can be programmed with tone prints that allow it also to be a modulation such as a chorus of flanger. The V2 version has 3 tone print slots, so if you only have one space on your board, you can still add a lot of flexibility.
