As part of our "Electronic Music For Beginners" series, Andy from Roland gives us a tutorial on how to program drum patterns with a 16-step sequencer.
Featured in this video is the Roland TR-8 drum machine, featuring sounds from the classic TR-808, TR-909, TR-707 and TR-606 machines. Check one out here: https://www.pmtonline.co.uk/roland-aira-tr-8-drum-machine
Although Andy is using Roland gear for this lesson, a 16-step sequencer is a pretty standard feature on many drum machines, synths and bass line machines, and they all work in pretty much the same way. So, regardless of what you're using, hopefully this guide will help you get started with programming patterns and using a step sequencer.
