Quite often it's easier, quicker and more productive for me to dial up any given amp on the Axe-FX III for pedal or guitar demos, such is its accuracy and convenience. Not always, though; I do love my tubes and 'real' amps, but the difference to the listener who is unable to see the source is often indistinguishable and to my ears at least, often better (in the Axe's favour). So here is a very loose rundown of some amp/cab/drive models that I might use from time to time. They all get tweaked like the real thing to suit the subject and the sound I'm going for, but the basics are here. If you're an Axe-FX III owner, give them a shot and experiment to see how they differ with your own guitar/pedal collection. Thanks for watching.
What is an amp? Isn't it anything that makes the sound louder - that amplifies it - often with the involvement of electricity or some sort of power? Then the 'traditional' amp is just an earlier form, right? The newer types - modellers with power amps and speakers, etc - are just as valid, aren't they? Same effect - volume increase for the instrument being amplified, just slightly different platforms. I like them all!
The guitar used in this video is a 2016 Charvel USA Select San Dimas Style 1 that I acquired in a trade. This is not a paid video and I was not commissioned to make it. Nor do I receive anything for it. I make these for fun and hopefully for the benefit of the guitar community. Rock on.
