Welcome to ProGuitarShop and ToneReport.com where we're greeting the Shape Shifter from Seymour Duncan. True to its name, the Shapeshifter gives you a ton of control over the waveform, letting you select the type but also the shape, for some unexplored tremolo sounds. Depth and Speed controls come standard, and then the Wave and Shape knobs take over. The Wave knob lets you pick from one of three waveforms, Sine, Triangle and Square, and the Shape control adjusts the rise and fall times for some asymmetrical throbs. Those of you with a two-amp setup will love the Shape Shifter, because the pedal is built for stereo. You'll find true stereo ins and outs on the rear of the pedal, along with a cool Phase knob that works only in stereo. This control adjusts the phase between the left and right outputs from 0 to 180 degrees, which gives you a truly immersive stereo experience. A handy Tap footswitch gives you the flexibility of hands-free speed control. When the center toggle is set to Rate mode, the tap tempo switch overrides the Speed control, and flicking the switch to Ratio turns the Speed knob into a subdivision control that also works with the Tap switch. The Shape Shifter gives you 1:1, 2:1, 3:1 and 4:1, so you can truly make the most of the tap tempo. Regardless of what tempo you dial in, the illuminated Speed knob blinks in time with the tempo, tapped or not. And just like all Seymour Duncan pedals, the Shape Shifter Stereo Tremolo is made in the USA.
