Lab Series amps were developed by Moog when they were under Norlin ownership in the 1970s. Norlin was also the parent company of Gibson at the time.
Made for only a handful of years, the Lab Series wasn't a huge commercial success, but they were an enormous technical success. To this day, many players, myself included, consider these Lab Series amps the best solid state amps ever made. They have a very musical tone, a very tube-like breakup and feel. It's little wonder why B.B. King STILL uses them onstage.
They are highly reliable, road-worthy amps with excellent tube-like tone and prices that do not reflect their real value.
