06:01 Where To Buy An Aston Element
The Element is Aston's first entry-level studio microphone, a sub-£200 mic that makes a fantastic alternative to the likes of the Rode NT1A or Se Electronics X1S. Despite its affordable price, the Element doesn't scrimp on quality and features a newly designed capsule that Aston call the Ridyon. This features a super-lightweight moving coil diaphragm that offers the detail of a condenser mic, the punch and off axis rejection of a dynamic and the mid frequency characteristics of a ribbon capsule...a truly innovative and unique design that combines the best of these 3 types of capsule.
Powered by 48v phantom power, the Element features a sturdy metal housing, a retro looking grill and unique contoured waveguides to optimise how the sound is captured. A cool looking glowing purple logo lets you know the mic is active (and which side to sing into!) and to make it an even better value package, it comes with a custom fit shock mount and a clever magnetic pop shield.
Definitely one of the best value home studio mics, the Aston Element performs equally well on male and female vocals, as well as acoustic instruments such as guitars and percussion. Take a quick look and listen here with PMTVUK and check one out at your nearest Professional Music Technology store...
