Gretsch Roundups ooze country-and-western swagger, and this particular serial has the goods in the tone department, too. It has a chunky, articulate attack with lots of percussive growl. However, the softer pine top rounds off the sharp edges of the attack, so it stays pleasant and well-mannered. The neck pickup has wonderfully thick low-end to go with throaty that can sing or roar depending on how bad your right hand's attitude is. The trebles sing sweetly, too! The bridge pickup has tighter, snappier low-end to go with vocal midrange and jangly, twanging trebles. Anyone looking for a monster Masterbuilt Gretsch will love this serial!
