Take the classic Tube Screamer, chop it up into bits, add pre-volume, master volume, treble and bass controls. Pull the gain down a little and call it 'Grit'. That's what the Tone Secret is. And it works a treat too. Just enough push to frighten or tighten most amp types, as I've tried to demonstrate here. Rock on. @vertexeffects.
