The Monster K Fuzz has its roots in the relatively unknown Kay Fuzz, an ripping octave fuzz in a plastic shell. The Monster K turns the original into a mad science lab of pulverizing vintage fuzz tones by outfitting it with much more control than the original. The signal path begins with the Input Gain control, which helps attenuate your guitar's pickups before sending the signal into the teeth of the Monster. Once inside the belly of the beast, the Monster K-Fuzz offers a three-way voicing switch that controls the body of the fuzz tone, featuring Vintage, Stock and Monster modes. The Vintage mode is the voicing of the original Kay Fuzz, giving you a cutting fuzz with plenty of mojo. The Stock setting is the original voicing found on Black Cat's original Custom K-Fuzz, and Monster earns its name with a punishing low-end boost that punches your amp in the face. The three-way clipping control gives you a finer tuning of the fuzz character, offering the germanium diodes just like the original, or more modern silicon and Schottky clipping for more and more madness. After leaving the fuzz shaping circuit, the Fuzz Frequency control lets you dial in the right tonal palette, and this knob can be controlled via an expression pedal for a truly unique octave fuzz and faux-wah sound that will spice up any solo in the book. And just like all Black Cat pedals, the Monster K-Fuzz is obsessively built using premium parts right here in the States.
