As for this Part of the Lesson ... we begin to Breakdown some really great Melodic Phrases that Scott plays with such great timing and feel. And as always his Tone is amazing. These Phrases may seem simple based on the fact that each phrase consists of 3 or 4 notes ... but to really pull them off you have to slow things down and listen to the terrific Rhythmic complexity that is taking place. It is Scott's complete command of Timing and Rhythm that sets him apart from so many of the great Guitar Players out there ... and it is what turns simple Phrases into complex yet super Melodic Ideas.
This part of the Solo that we are exploring is off of the Tribal Tech CD called Illicit and the song is called Black Cherry. This part of the solo begins around 3:40 in the song.
If you don't have this CD ... I suggest you pick it up ... between Black Cherry, Slidin' Into Charlisa, The Big Wave ... and well, just about every song on this CD is amazing. In fact as I've said many times before ... and I am not kidding about this ... go buy everything you can find with Scott playing on it ... including his Solo Stuff ... you will Learn Endless amounts of stuff from every recording.
Check out Scott's website where you can find out all about scott and his Recordings.

Back to this Lesson ... as we explore some of the Note for Note of these beginning Melodic Phrases ... there is also a nice little arpeggio line mixed in and we talk a little about vibrato.
We hope you enjoyed this and move onto the next parts of this Lesson where we continue the Note for Note Breakdown ... which includes some nice Outside Licks and Pentatonic Ideas and of course more Melodic Phrases. And as always we explore a bit and talk about how you can begin to incorporate what you have learned into your own Solos and Improvisation.
Thanks for Checking out this Lesson ... We really hope you enjoyed it ... and we look forward to sending you the link to the remaining two parts ... thank you so much for your continued Support!
