On this week’s Academy Of Tone, Thomas and Rich have a couple of rather exciting new amps to test – namely the Fender Tone Master Deluxe Reverb and the Bogner Ecstasy Mini head – plus we’re helping you nail more of your favorite artist tones with the AMP1!
Thomas has owned and played a number of classic Fender tube amps over the decades, so it will be exciting to hear how the new – and digital! – Fender Tone Master competes against these. Thomas and Rich will put the Tone Master through its paces in a variety of situations, as well as comparing it against a number of tube amps – and of course the AMP1 Mercury Edition!
The Bogner Ecstasy is another world famous amp, which is now available in a mini format (and tube free) for the first time. The Ecstasy has been used extensively by players like Steve Lukather on hundreds of iconic records, and so Thomas – who has extensive experience with the full-sized Ecstasy himself – will try and see if he can coax huge tones out of the new pint-sized version. We’ll also shoot the Ecstasy Mini out against the AMP1 and the other amps in the room!
After that, we’re back to helping you get the artist tones you want from your AMP1. We had great fun doing this last week, but there’s loads more to do, so please join us in the chat and leave us your suggestions and we will cover as many as we can. Just let us know your favorite artists, album or song tones, and Thomas will get to work!
