The Taylor Builder's Edition are a really interesting range of acoustics created by Taylor’s Master guitar designer, Andy Powers, and they represent what Taylor say is the peak of their design philosophy, the next step in the evolution of acoustic guitar design, offering a whole new level of comfort and tonality.
Whilst still remaining relatively traditional in appearance, these guitars feature some pretty unconventional, but really innovative design elements that you won’t find on most standard Taylor models. These include refined variations of classic body shapes with unique contouring and edge bevelling, compound neck profiles, rolled edge fingerboards and ergonomically designed bridges, which all combine to maximise playing comfort.
Tonally, the Builder's Edition guitars utilise carefully selected, solid tone woods such as Tropical Mahogany, Indian Rosewood, Maple and Hawaiian Koa. The solid Sitka Spruce tops have undergone torrefaction, speeding up the natural ageing process of the wood to bring out it's best tonal qualities, and these are supported by Taylor’s revolutionary V-class interior bracing system, improving sustain, resonance and intonation. These acoustics are also finished in Taylors newly developed "silent" satin, helping to reduce unwanted noise when playing and giving the guitars a lovely vintage aesthetic.
