Now some guys think that buying on the internet is the way to go for buying music gear. But is it? There are lots of things to consider - so I visited my local dealer to see just how good they were... and there's no doubt it's better than buying blind. The internet is cool from the right dealer but there are many not so good ones out there so how do you know the one you chose is good?
And don't think just because they have smooth talking guys as demonstrators or manufacturers on their videos that they 'must be good'! That is plain old marketing and unless you actually know them then it can be just as hard to find a 'great' dealer. Music Store Pro is my local one, and while they have changed hands a few times stretched over many years the guys there remain the same trusty ones I have known for years... and yes they are really trustworthy and know their stuff... always willing to help - even if you are not too sure of what to buy. Nice exchange system too!
I have even bought from the likes of Thomann and while some transactions have been cool, I can name at least three that lets just say that the equipment and the service was far less than reasonable. And worse... I complained about one purchase only to be 'questioned under a bright light' so to speak before I could send it back - dirty headphones are not really acceptable!
So Music Store Pro has a load of guys that actually know a lot about gear and more importantly they have your interests and satisfaction of the stuff they sell at heart - which is much more than I could say for some of the dealers I've bought from out there.
Visit http://www.musicstorepro.co.uk (it's being worked on as we speak) or call them on 01782 205100 and they are sure to be able to help. It's good to be able to help these guys they deserve it for sure.
