Glyn Evans of Auckland, New Zealand is 'Mr Glyn'. Glyn winds great pickups, several sets of which I've been fortunate to try. This set was inspired by customer requests for a 'clearer' neck pickup for their humbucker equipped guitars. Glyn decided that an A5 P90 could be the solution and he was right. Big success. So the neck pickup came first, followed some time later by the equally great bridge pickup. A run along a local beach gave Glyn the name, "Black Sand" and our humbucker size pickup heroes were born. And they're great! The guitar I'm using here has 500k pots and no treble bleed. I ran it into my Marshall 1959SLP because it's a very dynamic amp that can go from mild to wild with a twist of the guitar's volume knob. The Black Sand Pickups suit that arrangement very well, as I hope I demonstrate. Check out Mr Glyn's offerings at the link above. You won't be sorry!
