This lovely '69 Strat from Masterbuilder Jason Smith has a sweet, chiming voice with plenty of bite. The bridge pickup has laser-focused midrange that slices right through a mix to go with taut lows and lush, jangly highs. It sounds great for twangy stuff, indie sparkle, searing blues, and snarling rock. The middle pickup has a little more growl in the mids, and the lows are a bit more expansive. The highs, however, stay nice and open with plenty of bell-like chime. It's a great balanced tone that works for lead and rhythm in a variety of genres. In the neck position, the highs are glassier and smoother, the lows are round and robust, and the mids are broad and throaty. It's a wonderful fat lead sound, and it's great for chunky rhythms because it has plenty of mass while maintaining excellent clarity. Anyone looking for a Strat with sunny, cutting tone will love this jammin' Jason Smith!
