What's better than an Esquire? Why, a Double Esquire, of course! These fantastic Fenders come with a Silver Sparkle finish on the top with an aged black back, and they sound even better than they looks! To my ears, the open-loaded Nocaster neck pickup sounds like its sitting at the exact midpoint between a Strat neck pup and a Tele. It has the low-end warmth and roundness of a Tele, but the upper-midrange quack of a Strat! This is a killer combination, because it allows you to get mellow, warm neck pickup tones that still cut through the mix. The bridge pickup has dry, tight bass response, crisp highs, and snarling midrange; in other words, it's everything you'd want out of a bright, articulate guitar. Both pickups love to played through an overdriven amp, because both of their frequency response profiles beget lots of pleasing harmonics. This Tele would be an excellent addition to the quiver of anyone looking for a bright, punchy Fender!
