It's finally done! I put together a portable guitar pedal board that I can use live for both electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and guitar synth. I have an interesting rig because I need to do a lot with my sounds. I play a Godin XTSA that has a 13-pin synth out that sends three signals... electric, acoustic and synth to the Roland GR-55 guitar synthesizer.
The signal path goes from the GR-55 I split the signal into two outs, synth and combined electric acoustic. I can then send the synth sounds out to a direct box through the SKB pedalboard loop and the guitar signal now goes to my pedals. GR55 - Boss TU-2 Tuner - Boss CE-2 Chorus - Butler Tube Driver Clone Overdrive - Joyo Dyno compressor - Boss DD-20 Giga Delay with tap tempo - Boss RV-5 Reverb - AB Switch, and then the SKB pedalboard sends it to a DI too.
Because I use delay and reverb on both my acoustic and electric guitar tones, I wanted one board that could do both guitars rather than building tow boards. So the AB pedal switches the signal to a third out that I send wirelessly to a guitar amp in another room through the XVIVE U2 Wireless Guitar System. The SKB Case has a great built in isolated power supply too, so I don’t have to add another power supply to the rig.
The great thing about the plastic SKB case is that I can transport my pedals safely in them because with the lid on it is like a suitcase. This makes it super easy to setup in seconds.
One last thing. I used HOSA cables on this build and am super glad I did. Hosa cables are great and I don’t have to worry about cheap cables going bad on me. I especially like the Hosa Edge cables.
