I recently super modded a squier bass for a friend of mine. The only thing original is the body and the pick guard. Everything else was replaced/upgraded. In this video I compare the original stock Squier Affinity PJ Bass with my "Super Modded Timder" bass. The tone is very different, I think a lot has to do with the different strings as the modded one has half rounds. But I think this will give a good idea of first, how much a guitar can change with mods and second, how good the original Squier does sound.
I modded it with...
