The Fender Venice is a very affordable soprano size ukulele constructed from laminate basswood, whilst the Zuma is a higher spec’d concert model featuring Sapele construction and a few more luxurious features such as binding around the body and neck and an attractive soundhole rosette.
What both models do share in common though is Fender’s unique styling. Both the Zuma and the Venice are available in a wide range of funky colour options, and they feature a headstock design based on the famous Fender Telecaster, which houses a set of 4 in a line tuners just like you’d expect to find on one of their electric guitars.
Both ukes play and sound great, and they also feature a handy pull through design bridge, which makes replacing strings much easier as there’s no need for any special knotting like you would have to on a conventional bridge.
So if you’re looking for slightly more unique ukulele that really captures that kinda californian surfy, summery vibe, take a look at either the Fender Zuma or Venice, the later being particularly suited to beginners who might not want to spend too much but still want a quality instrument.
