The Descent Reverb and Mayflower are two recent and very welcome additions from the workshop of Walrus Audio, Oklahoma City OK, USA.
The Descent is a stereo device that uses three classic reverb algorithms - Hall, Shimmer and Reverse - along with +-Octave effects to create ambient beauty that is controllable via an expression pedal (not demoed in this video) and/or remote switch. Its sounds range from deep, gothic cathedral organs to classic room ambience.
The Mayflower OD (to be also demoed in a dedicated video) is one of the sweetest drives I've ever tried. I like it mostly because it doesn't take over the fundamental tone and it retains extraordinary note definition, above and beyond most other OD's I've experienced. If you're in the market for a low to medium gain OD, I highly recommend it. Watch out for a video on the Mayflower.
I've run the Descent in stereo for this video, to show it in its potentially best light. I've avoided getting involved in preset and remote capability as these features have already been amply covered by my friends Mike and Nick. Instead, I've simply tried to coax some cool sounds from the Descent and I believe I've succeeded for the most part. It's a very inspiring pedal.
