Synonymous with players such as Angus Young of AC/DC and Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath, this is inspired by one of the most iconic rock guitars, so the Eastcoast GS10, which obviously takes it’s inspiration from a certain double horned style guitar, is perfect for guitarists wanting to play slightly rockier, heavier musical styles.
Specs-wise, just like a traditional guitar which it takes inspiration from, the guitar features a slimmer, more lightweight body so it’s ideal for players wanting that fat humbucking tone, but without the back ache. The GS10 features a poplar body with a fixed, set Okumeh neck, which is pretty cool and definitely worth mentioning, as most double cutaway style guitars in this price range tend to have bolt on necks, which isn’t really traditional for the type of guitar. The necks fitted with a bound Amaranth fingerboard, or Purpleheart as it’s more commonly known, and this features 22 frets and classic trapezoid fingerboard inlays. The guitar itself feels really easy to play, with an authentically classic feeling neck profile and gloss finish, and it performs just as well, with tuning and intonation being kept stable by a set of smooth feeling chrome tuners, a fully adjustable tunomatic style bridge and a stop bar tail piece. As you might expect on a double cutaway style guitar, chunky, ballsy tones come courtesy of a pair of great sounding humbucker pickups, which sound warm and jazzy when played clean but with plenty of grunt for overdriven tones. These then run through a 3 way selector switch, allowing you to either select pickups individually or combine them together, and each pickup also has it’s own separate volume and tone control.
