We're playing an amazing Trainwreck inspired amp from Forsberg Amplification. It's based on the Express preamp and the Liverpool power amp. Daniel Forsberg himself is helping me and Ragnar Christensson demo it here. Ragnar is playing a Fender Stratocaster and Daniel and I are playing a Gibson Les Paul R9. We're playing the amp through a 1977 1960B Marshall 4x12 Cab with T1221 Black backs. Unidyne IV 548 and MD421U5 close mics and an AKG C414BXLII room mic. There is some slight post EQ to compensate for the room.
Here are some notes from Daniel:
"The amp is based on Ken Fischers ideas. It's not a copy.
Output transformer extremely important!
Output transformer in this very model:
1965 “Woden” AC-30
My own tweaks:
Cut some bass
A little bit less gain
Master volume
Half power switch 36/18-Watts
It’s a blending of the Express preamp/Liverpool power amp
Daniel built 4 prototypes before being satisfied with the sound!
To modify the circuit for every specific amp was Kens philosophy anyway!
Daniel wants to thank Ken Fischer for his Trainwreck pages (featured in Gerald Weber’s books), for being such an inspiration and he was one of Daniels first amp building role models! "
