This is the second in our "Holy Grail Blues Tone" demo series. In this episode we'll listen to a 1961 Supro Bermuda Model 1540 Res-O-Glas thru a 1961 Gibson Tweed Ranger Model GA-20T. The pickups in the Supro, as with all Valco electric guitars of this era, are large single coils in a humbucker footprint. The sound is reminiscent of a P-90, lots of bite and attack without being harsh. Through the Ranger's pentode-equipped 5879 second channel, they display a lot of clarity and cut, while managing to be mellow at the same time in the res-o-glas body.
