On this week’s Academy Of Tone, Thomas is back in Hamburg at the famous No. 1 Guitar Center with a horde of delectable vintage axes and special guest Marco Wriedt, guitarist with Pink Cream 69 and PRS endorser!
As he does a few times per year, Thomas has made the trip to north Germany to shoot a bunch more videos for the World Of Vintage Guitars, which is No. 1 Guitar Center’s YouTube channel. This means he’ll be playing around 30 incredible vintage guitars from the likes of Fender, Gibson and more, and he’ll be bringing the highlights along for the show.
Joining Thomas for the fun is our special guest Marco Wriedt, guitarist with German rockers Pink Cream 69. The pair will discuss their experiences and personal tastes when it comes to vintage guitars, and they’ll talk about how they use them – and their modern counterparts – for their own musical projects on stage and in the studio. The guys will also talk about how Marco’s modern PRS guitars sit in the guitar canon – as an endorsing artist, Marco has played a wide variety of PRS instruments over the years, including the Silver Sky, which he and Thomas will check out.
In the second half of the show, the guys will talk more about Marco and his career to date. An accomplished performer and a respected teacher, Marco has a strong reputation in the German music scene. He’ll discuss his six-string duties in Pink Cream 69 – whose singer, David Readman, you will all know as the singer in Thomas’s Blug Plays Hendrix project – and show us a few of the band’s top riffs!
The guys will also be answering your questions throughout the show, so if there’s anything you want to know about Thomas, Marco, vintage guitars, PRS, or indeed anything musical, then feel free to ask them in the live chat, and the guys will answer as many as they can!
