Here's seven minutes of slow-motion snowfall in reverse to cleanse the palate of your holiday doom-scroll.
We had two days of snow in Oklahoma City in mid-December, 2020. It felt worth it to get out and capture some slo-mo footage of it. We don't see a lot of snow here, maybe once or twice a year. Have also wanted to test a working utility prototype in the context of vocals, what is heard is a voice running through MAW XLR Pedal then through an array effects; see audio routing below.
Gear is:
Sony a7iii, Metabones EF-to-Sony-E mount, Rokinon 16mm f5.6*, 120fps interpreted to 24fps
*had to crop in 50% in post—the Rokinon 16mm is meant for cropped sensor, that was part of the test: How does this wide-angle lens look after cropping? For our purposes I'd say it looks pretty rad, If I was shooting 24fps at 4K it would be no big woop to crop that much in post. I also like a little in-camera vignette.
Audio routing is OBNE MAW; CBA MOOD; Automatone Preamp MKii, Signal Blender - [SEND A - Dark Star; Minim; EQD Avalanche Run L; Whitecap], [SEND B - Avalanche Run R, Procession], [OBNE UTILITY PROTOTYPE], Strymon Deco, [OBNE UTILITY PROTOTYPE] Strymon Iridium, DAW.
