With the Artist Elite series, Alvarez have drawn on over 50 years of guitar building experience to design a range of fantastic sounding, versatile and stylish looking acoustic guitars. These instruments combine premium tone woods and high quality components with expert workmanship and innovative design features, all at a price point that’s more affordable than you think for guitars with these kind of specs.
The Artist Elite ADE90CEAR is a dreadnought style electro acoustic with a cutaway body design and a bevelled armrest, which makes the guitar feel unbelievably comfortable to play.
In terms of tone woods, it features a natural finish Solid AA Sitka Spruce top with Ebony binding and Macassar Ebony back and sides. The top is supported by Alvarez’s MST1 tapered X bracing system, and all of this combines to produce a really bold tone with lots of low end and volume, but complimented by bright, clear trebles.
The neck of the guitar is made from Mahogany and it features a 50/50 semi gloss finish, making it really smooth and easy to play. The Pau Ferro fingerboard is fitted with elegant Abalone and Mother of Pearl inlays, and the cutaway body design allows for easy access to all of the 21 frets, so it’s ideal for playing lead lines and solos, as well as strumming open chords.
The high quality features extend to the hardware, there’s a set of premium chrome die cast tuners up on the headstock, and Alvarez’s clever bi-level bridge design, which when combined with the real bone nut and saddle, and the slightly more angled headstock, increases string tension, all helping to improve playability, sustain, resonance.
Finally, the guitar’s fitted with an LR Baggs Elements pickup and Stagepro EQ pre-amp, the same system found on Alvarez’s high end Masterworks guitars, making the ADE90 a perfect acoustic for gigging guitarists.
