By Armin Metz: "Here is an outdoor performance of "Back in the Jungle". We recorded it at night in the forest. It is a kind of anniversary version. I composed it in 97 in some quite inspired moments. It is featured on 2002`compilation "Bass-Talk 7 - Lords Of The Bass". I figured out this tapping technique while thinking of how possibly Michael Hedges could have played his song "Ariel Boundaries", I only had the audio information. His way was quite different as I found out later. Some years before I discovered the bass I was on piano and I liked Chopin, Beethoven and Keith Jarret a lot. On bass then it was a fresh adventure to transfer inspirations from piano and other things (or just seeing the bass as a piece of wood from the forest). The plucking technique with 2 hands on the fretboard in the verse part is a nice way to span wide-range chord voicings.
