This one's just for fun. I've always been a fan of the Frank Zappa 'Ship Ahoy' jam found on the '81 album 'Shut Up 'n Play Yer Guitar'. I loved the bubbly Oberheim VCF (Maestro?) thing. How easy is it to find one of the original pedals? Hard. SubDecay released a great version a few years ago - https://subdecay.com/effect/proteus-sample-hold-filter. I still have the prototype! It's very hard to find a decent clone otherwise, though. However, if you own an Axe-FX III, you can make your own from a filter and some controllers as demonstrated here. I didn't write this one; I'm pretty sure Matt Picone did, probably with the help of Dweezil..? Anyway, it's good fun and the preset is free, along with several hundred others in the latest Firmware.
The guitar is a 2020 Fender Esquire 70th Anniversary.
Cheers, B.
The video was made for fun. No-one paid me or gave me anything for it. Rock on.
