A good indicator of whether or not I 'really' like something I demo is if it inspires me to go the extra mile to write and record a piece of music with it. Such are the charms of Hotone Audio's new Soul Press II wah/volume/expression pedal. The Soul Press II has two beautifully voiced wahs, a clean and smooth volume taper, expression pedal and tuner outputs... the lot. Mainly, though, the Soul Press II sounds great and is tough and compact. Can't lose with this one.

Nerd stuff: The Strat is a 'Partscaster' built for me by Melbourne's Mark Emanuelli. Mark wound the pickups too. More about Mark when he's ready (and he's not just yet). The double cutaway guitar is a Harmony Guitars Comet, recently released and a little stunner that I find hard to put down. Seek one out if you can. The Soul Press II feeds the Axe-FX III which is running a simple '65 Deluxe Reverb sim, Fulldrive OD and stereo delay. Yes, the little track I recorded is one of mine. What to call it? Rock on.
