Alnico II sweetness. This medium output set of Strat pickups (6.2 neck; 6.35 middle; 6.7 bridge), delivered as a loaded pickguard, is hand-wound by Ben Bailey and installed by his brother Joe at JJ's Guitar Pickups. Ben has spent weeks voicing this set and I reckon he's got it just right. You can opt for a pickups-only set or order a loaded pickguard as I did. Just ask them. A copper-plated steel baseplate on the bridge pickup is another cool option that I went for. You will not be disappointed.
From Ben:
"The Sweet '62 set was designed for fans of music made with '62 models.
This set has a softer, more "aged" sounding treble than a typical Alnico V pickup while still retaining the clarity and dynamic range that our pickups are known for. They can be used at bedroom, rehearsal or gig volumes remaining warm, detailed and clear, without any harsh top end.
The Sweet '62 set are hand-Made in Australia with fibre flatwork and custom made, individually calibrated Alnico II magnets. Coils are wound with copper wire from an engineering firm based in Melbourne, Australia. They're wired with Gavitt cloth push-back wire and wax potted in a Paraffin/Beeswax mix."

This is not a paid video. I swapped my services for those of JJ's Guitar Pickups and I can tell you that these pickups will not be leaving this guitar anytime soon. Amazing.
