Phil X and Chappers FrettedAmericana Jam ... 12 bar blues breakdown ... Guitar Lesson and Licks part 1 of 2.
Click the link below to watch the wild man PhilX masterfully play this awesome blues solo himself
http://youtu.be/aNNjyB4-kjg
Senoir Phil X's solo begins at around 10:15 in that video.
In this two part guitar lesson we will breakdown a quick 12 bar blues where Phil X plays some crazy fast but clean licks while not forgetting to first lay a solid foundation by playing some tasty blues licks with great touch and feeling.
Mr Phil X is one amazing guitar player. This guy is like a virtual jukebox (only second to that of paul gilbert) who displays his wealth of musical knowledge on a weekly basis on frettedAmerica's youTube channel by playing an endless amount of classic 70's and 80's guitar riffs while demoing some high priced and much desired vintage guitars. He seems to know every guitar lick ever played. And he seems to know even more rhythm guitar licks then he does lead guitar licks. That's not to say Phi X is lacking with his lead guitar playing. This guy is a monster.
And as a guitar player of his talent deserves ... He is getting lot's of attention from the music community. You can see PhilX in his own band The Drills. And He just got done with playing on tour with Bon Jovi ... Playing side man to Jon Bon Jovi while Richie Sambora was unavailable for a short period of time. But if you want to see a ton of PhilX playing guitar ... look no further then fretted americana ...

This is where I first discovered mr Phil X ... so I thank you frettedamericana for all the awesome guitar demo's that you have PhilX do ... It's awesome good stuff.
If you are not familiar with the style of playing that phil x does ... just think of guitar players like Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Joe Diorio, BB King, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhoads, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Johnson, Steve Morse, George Lynch, Jerry Garcia, Robert Johnson, Yngwie Malmsteen, Albert Collins, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Eric Clapton, Freddie King, Jimmy Herring, Robert Johnson, Kirk Hammett, Muddy Waters, Toni Iommi, Zakk Wylde, The Edge, Richie Sambora, Bon Jovi, Andy Timmons, Ritchie Blackmore, Mark Knopfler, Steve Howe, Bruce Springsteen, Justin Bieber, Paul Gilbert, Joe Bonamassa, Tommy Emmanuel, Bill Frisell, Jim Hall, Chuck Berry, Jason Becker, Slash, Neal Schon, Kieth Richards, George Harrison, Gary Moore ... Did I leave anyone out?
That List could go on much longer because this guy definitely encompasses a lot of different sounds from a bunch of different guitar players. But most importantly ... philX definitely has his own style.
Alright enough talkie ... I hope you guys enjoy this lesson. I had a lot of fun transcribing and doing a breakdown of this quick 12 bar blues guitar solo that Phil X has so masterfully laid upon us.
