The PDF-1X celebrates 10 years since Stone Deaf Effects released their ground-shaking Parametric Distortion Filter. Since then, this father-son team has gotten their British boutique pedals in the hands of pros across the globe, including Mr. Josh Homme.
As a final swan song to the big box PDF-1 & 2 models, the PDF-1X contains some new features and will be offered in a standard version plus a special limited run of 200 with custom graphics and signatures from Stone Deaf and illustrator McBess.
Parametric EQ, Clean Boost, Distortion and Fuzz are all still available within this form factor. A 20dB boost/cut (Height) of frequencies range from 35Hz to 6kHz and the 5 pos switch selects the Q width from very focused to broad tone shaping. To make full use of the EQ, Stone Deaf’s Active EP-1 Expression pedal allows cocked wah and hands free filter sweeps.
The low noise circuit with clean and dirty channels allows not just guitars but bass, synth, drum machines and more to benefit from this road rugged tool. To fine-tune the built in distortion, an internal gain trim pot allows set-and-forget adjustments that range from PDF-1, 2 and beyond.
Also new is the addition of a master volume control to allow 15dB of boost, to add overdrive inducing levels on top of greater flexibility with pedal stacking.
