This video includes a cameo appearance by the most excellent Providence Chrono Delay at 2:27.
The Providence HBL-3 Heat Blaster is a very versatile distortion. It can run the gamut from clean boost right through to aggressive, tube-like distortion. It feels like a tube amp to play.
Improvements over the last model (IMO) include a slightly faster attack and a throatier mids focus - both good things.
Providence are a Japanese company with very high standards. The highest. I endorse them fully and always look forward to their product releases as they are invariably fabulous.
The Les Paul you see here is a Larry Corsa modded Gibson Les Paul Std. Faded. It has been painstakingly modded by Larry to as close an approximation of Peter Green's famous "'59 Burst" as one can get. Larry believes the Fadeds were the best Les Pauls suited to these mods which include the reversal of the neck pickup. I believe him although I've never tried the real thing and probably never will. But LCPG-187 is a tremendous instrument and I'll never part with it.
Recorded with a Violet Design 'The Amethyst Standard' microphone placed dead centre about 3" away from the HIWATT's left speaker. Pro Tools 9 tracked the recording. On the input channel I added Waves CLA Guitars plug for light compression and some room. On the Output Master I added Waves L3-16 Limiter to keep levels in check.
Thanks for watching.
