The Communication Breakdown is a two-in-one-fuzz that covers all the bases when it comes to bender-style fuzz. Long associated with players like Beck, Page and Ronson, SolidGoldFX have preserved the essence of this fuzz sound while offering more tweak-ability and modern conveniences. Fuzz A on the right is the rare MK1.5 Bender which had 2 transistors like the Fuzz Face but much more midrange honk and a tighter gain structure. You can starve the voltage with the bias knob and instantly go back to 1966 with a sputtery sound or turn it up and take advantage of the extra gain afforded by its silicon transistors. On the left or B channel, is the more familiar MKII which has 3 transistors and therefore more gain and girth. Each side has identical controls: the input gain and bass attenuation toggle will not only help each fuzz get along with each other but with wah pedals, making sure the full sweep is preserved.. The Color toggle lets you enjoy a wide freq range like vintage units or two flavors of high cut and mid shaping, which really helps you carve out never before heard fuzz flavors. Not simply a clone, the Communication Breakdown uses a JFET Preamp and all silicon transistors to make this fuzz reliable and compatible with your pedalboard, plus you’l find two internal DIP switches that let you select Bold for more mids and output or Comp for a softer attack and more compression on either side. Like all SolidGoldFX, the Communication Breakdown is handmade in Montreal Canada and features true bypass.
